Who Am I?
As a mind-body skills facilitator, I see my role as a teacher and guide rather than a therapist. I strive to help group participants find the resources inside themselves to become active agents of their own healing.
I am certified in mind-body medicine through the Center For Mind-Body Medicine in Washington DC, founded by Dr. James Gordon, author of the book “Unstuck”. The Center for Mind-Body Medicine is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to reviving the spirit and transforming the practice of medicine. The Center has trained thousands of healthcare professionals around the world to facilitate Mind-Body skills groups in their regions, including areas ravaged by war and natural disaster. For more information on this model and the Center’s work go to cmbm.org.
In addition to my role as a mind-body skills facilitator, I am a practicing psychotherapist in Berkeley, California. For more about my work with individuals and couples visit my psychotherapy website at sarahackerman.com
